Bed Features

Bed features in cars typically refer to features that are associated with pickup trucks and other vehicles that have a cargo bed in the back. The most important considerations for truck beds include:

Durability is important to ensure that the bed can withstand heavy loads and regular use without showing significant wear or damage.  Size and capacity refer to the size of the bed itself and its ability to hold large or heavy items.  Ease of use would include features such as tie-down points and easy access to the bed.  Here is a list of bed features that include factory options as well as aftermarket add-ons, which can vary depending on the make and model of the vehicle.

Tie-down points: These are anchor points in the bed of the truck where cargo can be secured using ropes or straps.

Bed liners: These are protective liners that are placed in the bed of the truck to prevent scratches, dents, and other damage to the bed. Spray-on bed liners are more durable compared to traditional drop-in bed liners.

Bed extenders: These are devices that can be installed in the bed of the truck to increase its capacity for hauling large or bulky items.

Lighting: Built-in for improved visibility when loading or unloading cargo at night.

Toolboxes: Some pickups have built-in toolboxes to secure and store tools or other small items

Tailgate: May have different features like a power-assisted lift, step, or even a tailgate extender.

Removable dividers: Some trucks have dividers to keep cargo in place and better organize the cargo bed.

Weather-resistant seal: Some trucks have weather-resistant seals to keep cargo dry.

Remote bed release: Allows you to lower the tailgate without having to physically open it.

Retractable or foldable tonneau cover: To protect the contents of the bed from the elements, and to provide additional security for cargo.

Built-in power outlet in the cargo bed: For powering tools or charging devices.

Built-in step or ladder: To make it easier to access the cargo bed.
